To już 38. edycja Golden Joystick, gdzie nagrody w zakresie gier komputerowych przyznaje głównie publika. W tym roku ma to jeszcze większe znaczenie, gdyż z racji pandemii gaming stał się ważnym aspektem dla jeszcze większej ilości osób. Do tego stopnia, że branża gier komputerowych otrzymała nagrodę “Outstanding Contribution”. Całośc w tym roku poprowadziła para aktorów głosowych Laura Bailey i Travis Willingham. Znani mogą być z takich hitów jak Marvel Avengers czy World of Warcraft. Dodatkowo mają własne show skupione na Dungeons and Dragons – Critical Role.
Wielcy zwycięzcy
Nie powinno być zaskoczeniem, że The Last of Us 2 zgarnęło najwięcej nagród. Wśród nich najważniejszą: “Ultimate Game of the Year”. Do tego produkcję nagrodzono za najlepszą opowieść, szatę graficzną, oprawę audio oraz uznano ją za najlepszą grę na platofrmę Playstation. Wysoko uplasował się również Hades, zdobywając nagrodę najlepszej gry Indie oraz “Critic’s Choice Award”. Dwie nagrody przypadły również dla gry Minecraft – “Still playing” i “Best Gaming Community”.
Grą roku na platformie Nintendo zostało Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Odpowiednik tej nagrody dla Xbox zdobyła gra Ori and the Will of the Wisps.
